Christmas Show
December is a very special month for our Infants students. Since the beginning of the month we feel Christmas all around us and a very special feeling grows in our heart. Everythings turn red and green Christmas is coming! Children startlistening to Christmas songs in their classroom and prepare their performance for the Christmas Show. They love this time before Christmas and you can feel the excitementin the air while they sing each song they have learnt. They participated with enthusiasm during the rehearsals working hard improving their performance in order to have the best shown for their parents. This year they presented Christmas around the world and during their performance they showed how they celebrate Christmas in each of the countries. The children gave an excellent performance, and the parents were very happy to see their children singing and dancing. It was a nice Christmas Show.

May your Christmas sparkle with moments of love, laughter and goodwill, and may the year ahead be full of contentment and joy!

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO EVERYONE!

MY DEAR LAMBS.

A full year of beautiful experiences has finished and you have learned many new things. You have learned to share and to be tolerant; you have learned to persevere and to know that nothing is impossible and that all that is needed is a little bit of good will to archive your wishes. I feel very proud of each one of your achievements, I won’t forget this year; you’ll always be deep inside my heart. The enthusiasms that you showed each day to learn more and always be willing to participate in all school activities make me feel proud. Keep on working as hard as you have been, and put into practice all the values that you have learned this year. This will make you better human beings. Next year will be a new challenge, you should demonstrate everything that you know, and continue to make an effort and value what you receive from your parents every day.
I love you; I will always be there when you need me.
Miss Rosita.

The meaning of Christmas.

Christmas or Christmas Day is an annual holiday celebrated on December 25 that commemorates the birth of Jesus of Nazareth. The date of commemoration is not known to be Jesus' actual birthday, and may have initially been chosen to correspond with either a historical Roman festival or the winter solstice. Christmas is central to the Christmas and holiday season, and in Christianity marks the beginning of the larger season of Christmastide, which lasts twelve days.
Although traditionally a Christian holiday, Christmas is widely celebrated by many non-Christians and some of its popular celebratory customs have pre-Christian or secular themes and origins. Popular modern customs of the holiday include gift-giving, music, an exchange of greeting cards, church celebrations, a special meal, and the display of various decorations; including Christmas trees, lights, and garlands, mistletoe, nativity scenes, and holly. In addition, Father Christmas (known as Santa Claus in North America, Australia and Ireland) is a popular mythological figure in many countries, associated with the bringing of gifts for children.

Festejo (from Spanish 'fiesta') is a festive form of Peruvian music. It can be seen as a celebration of Perú's independence and the emancipation of slaves, or as an attempt to reinvent diaspora African music without reference to slavery. Composers of all races have contributed to the development of festejo repertoire. Its origins are in a competitive circle dance performed by men playing cajóns. Nowadays, people of all ages and races participate in a witty dance accompanying the festejo.
Here some pictures and a video from Lambs class.

SOLIDARITY WEEK

As a member of the Latin American Head Conference , our school made the commitment to rebuild a school in Chincha. For that reason, San Jorge Patrol which is in charge of social work in the school, took on the challenge of working in this task and organized a Solidarity Week. The event was carrying out from Monday 05 until Wednesday 07 of this week, and consisted of 3 days of fun clothing.
On Monday we had "Jeans Day", on Tuesday "Pyjamas Day" and finally on Wednesday "Extravagant Day".

Each student contribute to this cause, giving a simbolic donation. The objective of this activity was to motivate the solidarity and to emphasize the importance of being supportive with our fellow men.
